The Government of India, the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) has issued a notification for the recruitment of 5 Demonstrator (Weaving), Laboratory Assistant (Workshop), Laboratory Attendant (Workshop/Weaving)   post vacancies. The candidates who have passed required qualification for Demonstrator (Weaving), Laboratory Assistant (Workshop), Laboratory Attendant (Workshop/Weaving) posts, are eligible to apply for Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) Demonstrator (Weaving), Laboratory Assistant (Workshop), Laboratory Attendant (Workshop/Weaving)   Recruitment 2016-17.

Educational qualification Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) recruitment 2017 must be a Three years Diploma in Handloom Technology or Textile Technology or Three years Diploma in Handloom & Textile Technology or equivalent from a recognized Institution with one year practical experience in a weaving mill or handloom or power loom factory. The age should be in below 30 years as on 01-12-2016. Age relaxation is 05 years for SC/ ST/ PH Candidates admissible as per rules.

How to Apply: pplication in the prescribed proforma (Annexure-I) must reach by Speed Post/Registered post along-with self-attested photocopies of all certificates for age, educational qualification, experience and SC/ST/OBC/PH Certificates, if any etc. to the office of Director, Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, Chowkaghat, Varanasi-221002 within 45 days (52 days in respect of the candidates residing in NE Region including Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul and Spiti district and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands or Lakshadweep) from the date of publication of the advertisement of the above vacancies in the Employment News/Rojgar Samachar. The serving employees must send application through their respective employer; otherwise, their applications shall be summarily rejected. Application received after the last date or without relevant documents shall be summarily rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. Roles & Responsibilities

    1) Demonstrates merchandise and products to customers to promote sales: Displays product and explains features to customers.

    2) Answers customer's questions about product.

    3) Demonstrates use or production of product and simultaneously explains merits to persuade customers to buy product.

    4) May perform duties described under SALESPERSON Master Title.

    5) May suggest product improvements to employer.

    6) May use graphic aids, such as charts, slides, or films, to facilitate demonstration.

 Indian Institute of Handloom Technology (IIHT) are a group of government run public institutes  of higher education in the handloom sector. There are six institutes in central sector and four in the State sector. All IIHTs provide a three years Diploma in Handloom and Textile Technology. The Varanasi and Salem Campuses also offer a one and half year Post Diploma in Textile Processing.
