The Government of West Bengal Burdwan Medical College & Hospital has issued a notification for the recruitment of 28 Medical Technologist post vacancies.

Educational qualification for Burdwan Medical College & Hospital recruitment 2017 must be a completed 12th Class/Diploma in Laboratory Technology from any approved Institution / Board. The Applicants age limit 18-37 years as on 01.01.2016. Reserved category candidates from SC, ST, Pwd and Women will get upper age limit relaxation as per organization norms. Roles & Responsibilities

    Medical technologists analyze samples of blood, tissue and body fluids to determine chemical content, cell count, drug levels or blood type; they may also search for specific microorganisms like bacteria or parasites. Preparing the samples for examination, using automated equipment and specialized instrumentation, performing numerous complicated tests simultaneously, and accurately interpreting the results are all part of a medical technologist's job.

Company Profile

Beginning it's journey in the year of 1969 as ‘Burdwan University Medical College’ by the University of Burdwan, it was taken over by the Government of West Bengal on 4 August 1976, and renamed as Burdwan Medical College. In the year 2003 the College remained as the sole Medical College under the academic jurisdiction of Burdwan University until it was taken up by the West Bengal University of Health Sciences in 2003. Presently, the Medical College is spread over a sprawling 51 acres of land. The super-speciality wing comprising the Neurology, Nephrology and Cardiology including Cardiothoracic Surgery is now relocated into a separate building from the main Hospital building. Besides imparting MBBS course, and Medical post graduations, some Para-Medical courses like Physiotherapy, Nursing, DMLT are run under the auspices of Burdwan Medical College.
