The Government of Ludiana, Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology has issued a notification for the recruitment of 1 Senior Research Fellow (SRF) post vacancies.

Educational qualification for Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology recruitment 2017 must be a Master degree in Agricultural Process Engineering/ Post Harvest Engineering and Technology/ Processing and Food Engineering/ Food Engineering and Technology/ Agricultural Statistics with 1st division/ 60% marks/equivalent OCPA/CGPA. The age limit 35 years (with relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC and woman as per existing rules)

Roles & Responsibilities

    1. To lead research activities and projects within the Unit of Assessment, including the development of personal, group or collaborative objectives, frequently acting as 'Principal Investigator’
    2. To develop proposals for significant research projects which increase the knowledge understanding and discovery of new explanations, insights, concepts and processes
    3. To develop own or group work, interpret research findings, generating high quality publications and disseminating results through appropriate media
    4. To contribute to the development of research strategies within the UoA/Faculty
    5. To prepare reports and present information to research groups, steering groups, etc. – particularly progress reports, overseeing similar activities of research assistants when appropriate
    6. To identify sources of funding and lead the process of application
    7. To manage research project budgets and other resources.
    8. To lead upon research governance issues


Company Profile

The Central Institute of Post-Harvest Engineering and Technology (CIPHET) was established on 29 December 1989 at the PAU Campus, Ludhiana, Punjab, India as a nodal institute to undertake lead researches in the area of the post-harvest engineering and technology appropriate to agricultural production catchment and agro-industries. The institute’s second campus was established on 19 March 1993 at Abohar, Punjab, India. Which is primarily responsible for conducting research and development activities on fruits and vegetables, and commercial horticultural crops. CIPHET is also headquarters for two All India Coordinated Research Projects (AICRPs) viz. AICRP on Post-Harvest Technology (PHT) at 38 Centres and AICRP on Applications of Plastics in Agriculture (APA) at 11 Centre's.
