The Government of India, the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited has issued a notification for the recruitment of 60 Technician Apprentice post vacancies. The candidates who have passed required qualification for Technician Apprentice post, are eligible to apply for West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited Technician Apprentice Recruitment 2016-17.

Educational qualification West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited recruitment 2017 must have pass Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering/ Electronics & Instrumentation (03 years full time course) from any institute recognized by the AICTE. The age should be in 18-24yrs. Selection of the candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in written exam/ Personnel Interview/ Other Mode.

Roles & Responsibilities

    The Apprentice/trainee technician role supports the various areas of activity engaged in by the
    institute.
    These areas include but are not necessarily limited to teaching, research, academic and
    professional development.
    The Apprentice/trainee technician must assist the institute to meet its vision and charter and
    must do so in a manner that reinforces the values of the institution.
    This will involve providing pro-active and timely support and assistance to the teaching/research
    team, students and members of industry and in a manner that conforms to the institutes policies
    and procedures.

WBPDCL Formed in July, 1985 with only one gen­er­at­ing unit at Kolaghat hav­ing turnover of Rs.64 Crore paced up fur­ther to Rs.2728 Crores in 2007-?08 with 20 units at Kolaghat,Bandel, Bakreswar, San­taldih and Sagardighi. Kolaghat Ther­mal Power Sta­tion involves a total installed capac­ity of 1260 MW. There are Bakresh­war Ther­mal Power Sta­tion plants hav­ing a capac­ity of 1050MW, & Sagardighi Ther­mal Power Project hav­ing capac­ity of 600MW Ban­del Ther­mal Power Sta­tion and San­taldih Ther­mal Power Sta­tion have been under­taken by WBPDCL as per re-?organization mea­sures of power sec­tor in West Bengal. WBPDCL works in tan­dem with West Ben­gal State Elec­tric­ity Board (WBSEB) and Cal­cutta Elec­tric Sup­ply Cor­po­ra­tion (CESC).
